A fascinating website www.kinemagigz.com produced by Colin Gourlay takes an in-depth look at the history of the Kinema Ballroom, Dunfermline, one of Scotland's best known popular music venues, which hosted over the years, acts as diverse as the Bay City Rollers, Cream, Elton John, The Stranglers and The Who. One of the enduring memories of my youth was to tread the same boards trod by many of these stars while playing bass with a local band called Trax in the late-1970's. Colin was our roadie, photographer and latterly archivist (unbeknown to the band he was secretly recording our every breath and move!) and he has done us all proud with his memory for detail and incident...not to mention getting us into print in Alex Ogg's definitive guide to the music and culture of the time No More Heroes available through www.amazon.co.uk
